Mountains

The top of Germany: The Zugspitze Mountain Range

At a height of 2,962 meters, the Zugspitze towers over the whole region and its different mountain ranges.

A Region of Enjoyment: The Ammergau Alps

Lakes

Only a few minutes’ drive separates you from the so-called blue country with its beautiful moor-lands and lakes. The clear waters of these lakes, ideal for bathing, are among the warmest in Bavaria. The Eibsee

Near the Zuspitze village of Grainau, situated at a height of 1,000 meters, you will discover the crystal clear Eibsee lake. During the angling season this lake is very popular and well known - not only because of its picturesque and peaceful setting, but also its good stocks of fish. Further Information.

The Plansee lake is situated near the parishes of Breitenwang and Heiterwand in the district of Reutte, Austria, in the Ammergau alps. In the parish for lake Plansee, which is in the Breitenwang district, there is also a diving camp, which can also offer visitors the exceptionally refreshing experience of ice diving during the winter.
